Bruce, a licensed architect with more than 30 years of experience, grew up in Marion, Indiana and decided in seventh grade that he was going to be an architect. After graduating from Marion High School, Bruce attended Ball State University where he received a Bachelor of Architecture and achieved his goal as a kid, by becoming a licensed architect in 1991.
Bruce’s career in architecture began in 1985 when he joined the architectural design team at RQAW. It was here that he met Tom. They quickly became friends and even back in 1985, they talked about having a firm together. In January 2024, Bruce and Tom officially launched B+T Designhaus LLC.
Bruce has worked on a variety of project types, including high-end single-family homes, multi-family, single family, commercial, retail, and mixed-use commercial/multi-family projects, gaining a broad knowledge base of architectural design. 10 years of his experience has been in both market rate and affordable multi-family housing. His work includes Energy Star, National Green Building Standards, and Enterprise Green Communities-compliant projects, and his projects have received awards for 2020 and 2021 Lieutenant Governor's Excellence in Affordable Housing and the Associated Builders and Contractors' Indiana and Kentucky Award of Excellence “Excellence in Merit Shop Construction” for a project compliant with Net Zero design.
Bruce is committed to providing high-quality architectural services by working collaboratively with our clients and any other team member that might be involved in the design of your project to create "Architecture Designed For You". Whether working on a custom home or a commercial project, working with B+T Designhaus, means you are working directly with Bruce and Tom and you will benefit their strengths, experience and friendship.
Bruce’s personal life centers around his wife of 25 years and their 4 adult children. If the weather is warm, he can usually be found spending time boating and fishing and “hanging out” at the lake.
To get an even better picture of the abilities and the design philosophies of Bruce as an architect, check some of his previous projects. While these were done before B+T Designhaus existed, and while Bruce was working for other firms, he was the project architect on all of these.
