Tom Treinen, an esteemed designer with over 30 years of experiencewas born and raised in Northwest Iowa, where he developed the strong values of integrity, hard work, and community that define his approach to life and business. After graduating from high school, Tom pursued his passion for architecture at Iowa State University, laying the foundation for what would become an exceptional career in design.

In January 2024, Tom teamed up with his longtime friend and colleague, Bruce Berry, to co-found B+T Designhaus LLC, an architectural firm specializing in high-end residential and commercial projects. Their firm is driven by a shared passion for delivering creative, custom designs while putting the client at the center of every project. With decades of experience, Tom's reputation for quality craftsmanship and attention to detail has made him a trusted name in the industry. This partnership has been built on years of shared experiences and a mutual dedication to creating sophisticated, thoughtful design solutions.

Tom’s career in architecture began in 1985 when he joined the architectural design team at RQAW. It was here that he met Bruce Berry, his future business partner and co-founder of B+T Designhaus LLC. Tom’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish his own firm, Thomas Treinen Design, Inc., in 1993, which quickly became a premier brand in the Indianapolis design market. His award-winning designs have been showcased at the prestigious Indianapolis Home-A-Rama six times, with several "Best of Show" accolades to his name, solidifying his reputation as a visionary in high-end residential design.

Outside of his professional accomplishments, Tom’s heart belongs to his family. He enjoys spending quality time with his wife Kelly, their three adult daughters, son-in-law, and grandson, often hiking, biking, or skiing together. Tom’s greatest inspiration comes from his family, and he brings that same warmth and personal touch to every client relationship.

Tom’s friendly, approachable nature, combined with his customer-first philosophy, means every project is designed with care, creativity, and a genuine understanding of each client’s vision. Whether working on a custom home or a commercial space, Tom’s ultimate goal is to make his clients feel heard, valued, and part of the design process from start to finish.
